Who is this webinar for?

It's for YOU!

If any of the following resonates...

“I'm SO TIRED of struggling with these doubts about teaching.”

“I can't get clarity about whether teaching's right for me, no matter how hard I try.”

“I want to move on with my career feeling confident that I'm making the right choice.”

What will you get out of these 60 minutes?

  • Spark, insight, energy!

  • Relief. You don't need to know how to figure this all out on your own, because I'll tell you what works.

  • Confidence that you're spending your "career questioning time" wisely.

  • Strategies you can use right away to get more clarity about your career future.

  • How much of my time does the course require?
The more time you put into the course, the more you will get out of it. You can expect to make good progress by investing an average of 1-2 hours per week watching the recorded lessons and doing the assignments and 1 hour per week attending the live weekly calls. That adds up to about 2-3 hours of work a week.
  • Will this course help me find a job?
Yes! If you decide to leave the classroom, this course will help you clarify what career path you want to pursue, which will make your job search SO much easier. However, we will not directly address job search strategies and application materials (cover letters, interviews, resumes). Laura offers that kind of support through 1:1 coaching or can make referrals for other coaches who focus more on this part of your career transition.
  • When are the live weekly calls?
Tuesdays at 5 p.m. Eastern. They are also recorded and shared the day after the calls.
  • What's Laura's background in education?
I have a long history with education, though not only in the classroom. In college, I focused my studies on Spanish and secondary education and then taught briefly at high schools in Chicago and Indiana. I also taught English as a Second Language (ESL) in Venezuela. The rest of my career in education has been focused on creating meaningful learning experiences OUTSIDE of the classroom (e.g. study abroad). I thrive on helping people learn new things about themselves, others, and the world around them, and career coaching has been a natural extension of this.
  • Who benefits most from this course?
If you are a teacher that has considered leaving teaching for another career, this course could be for you. The teachers who will benefit most from the course fall into two categories: 1) You know you want to find alternative work, but you don't know what you want to do instead. 2) You've been wavering back and forth for awhile about whether to continue teaching or leave for another career, and you just can't get any clarity. This course is probably NOT for you if you need a new job and a new income right away. The content prioritizes reflection and exploration (which take time) over the nitty gritties of the job search.
  • Will we cover resumes in this course?
Not directly. This course does not assume that you will leave classroom teaching - some people decide to stay. If you already know you want to leave teaching or you decide to leave as a result of your work in this course, your resume will need attention. But first, you need clarity about what's next, and that's the goal of this particular course. Laura offers resume support through 1:1 coaching or can make referrals for other coaches who focus more on this part of your career transition.
  • Do I get all the course content at once?
No. When you first enroll in the course, you'll get access to the Intro Module: Getting Started. Once the course begins, you'll get access to Module 1: Your Career Narrative. After that, modules are released every two weeks. Once the course is over, you'll have access to all of the modules for 12 months from the start of the course.
  • Are there scholarships or discounts available?
Not currently. The course has been priced with teachers' income in mind.
  • Is the webinar really free?
100% free. You can save your hard-earned dollars for something else!
  • Is the webinar actually live?
Yep! This is not a pretend live scenario. I will be there with you, presenting and interacting with you in the moment.
  • Is it worth attending if I just started having doubts about teaching?
Yes, absolutely. Taking this webinar now will save you time and stress, because you'll start out approaching your questions honestly, thoughtfully, and effectively.
  • Will there be a chance to ask questions during the webinar?
Yes, I will leave time at the end to answer questions that are coming up for you.
  • What happens if I can't make it to the live webinar?
As of right now, the only way you can see the webinar is live. I hope to record it and make it available on my website down the road. If you want to be added to my mailing list to stay up-to-date on this and other news, please email me at coach@lauralitwiller.com with a subject heading of: INTEREST IN RECORDED WEBINAR.

A note from Laura...

(Career Coach for Educators and your guide to answering the question "Should I stay or should I go?")

I know so many teachers who experience a pendulum of emotions about teaching. Good days can be great and bad days can be demoralizing. There are so many reasons to stay in the classroom and so many reasons to go. So how are you supposed to make a decision?!

If you're anything like the teachers I know, you're trying your best to get clarity with the tools you have at hand, the strategies you think might work. And if it's working for you, great! But if what you've tried isn't working, and you're still fumbling for answers in the dark, do not miss this webinar.
